Eventually I am going to port the Links plugin to use custom post types. This will make it much simpler to implement this kind of feature instead of re-inventing the wheel.

I have just added something similar to this to core. I added a setting which disables down voting. It doesn’t solve your exact problem, but it eliminates the possibility of people rating stuff negatively.

I believe this is a BP 1.7 issue. I am going to make a serious effort to get a version of Balance out which addresses some 1.7 issues asap!

I tested the link you provided and it worked fine, and I was able to save the link.

Can you provide a screen capture of the issue?

You must be logged in to create a link. The create link button should even be showing up if you aren’t logged in. Where do you see the button?

Can you please paste a link for a page which is not fetching properly?
